Furusawa burst onto the scene in 1987 with the "Soiree de Violin" - a concert seriles featuring lighting effects,
conversation and gypsy music bands in which he performed together with Yuji Takahashi, Taro Hakase and others.
"Typhoon", a band which Furusawa has played in for 10years alongside Paul Coletti and other band members,
holds its last Japan tour in December 1999.
Artists Furusawa has performed with in the past include Yo-Yo Ma, Pletnev, Peter Dam and a group "Sorties
D'Artistes". Released an album "As Time Gose By" collaborating with Stephane Grappelli ; his last recording.
Furusawa has also appeared in hull-stage ensembles minus conductor featuring orchestras from all over Japan.
Planned for this year are performances with Tetsuya Kumakawa, Hideki Togi and the guitar-playing Srgio & Odair
Assad . Furusawa also organizes a yearly workshop where participation is open to all levels and instruments.
This autumn he plans his 7th European Yakai (Soiree) concert in Belgium.
Studied music at Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo. The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and the
Salzburg Mozarteum. under Toshiya Eto, Aaron Rosand, Nathan Milstein, Sandor Vegh and Ivry Gitlis.
Awarded the first prizes at the Japan Music Competition and the Michelangelo Abbado Competition in Italy.
From 1988, he served as solo concert master of the Tokyo Metropolitan Sympony Orchstra for 4years.
The album;"Une Soiree de Violin" which contains the music from the TV commercial for "Peace Light Box",
reached sales of 150,000 copies,exceptional for a classical music recording.
