■--(12月28日)------------------------------------------------------------------------- 
本ヨーロパ島 DXペディチームのログ検索が、ワイルドカード検索が出来ない方式に変更された。

同検索ページが使用していた G4ZFE Log Search Applet (ワイルドカード検索が出来るのが特徴) は 
DX世界では広く使われており、特に問題は出ていなかったのですが、悪い事に? チームサイトに初め
てハッキリ「ワイルドカード検索が出来ますヨ」と書いたのが拙かったようです。(最近他のもう一つ
のサイトでも書いてましたが)。
ワイルドカード検索が出来る事 事態に何ら問題はないはずですが、ログデータを見て、自分に近い
コールサインを見つけ出し、「それは自分であって、コールをミスしている」と言い張って QSOもして
いないのに、カードをせしめようとする「悪者」が出ては困る、と云うのがクレームを付けた者の言い
分のようです。(何か馬鹿馬鹿しい話ですが)。


■--(12月26日)------------------------------------------------------------------------- 
26日朝から、再びログ検索が可能になりました。 ARRL デスクの一員の干渉からログ検索をストップ
したと云うのですが、不可解な事で復帰は当然です。 JA局に関する限りログデータに変更はなし。


■--(12月24日)------------------------------------------------------------------------- 
TO4E & TO4WW のログ検索は昨23日18:00j頃から可能になっていましたが、今日の午前よりログ検索
ページに書かれている通り一時的に稼動を停止しました。 何れ再開するでしょうが、今のワイルド
カード検索が出来る G4ZFE 検索ツールから他のものに変更されるかも知れません。


■--(12月23,24日)---------------------------------------------------------------------- 
予想されていたより早く TO4E & TO4WW のログ検索が可能になりました。 これは多分レユニオン島に
戻ったチームから、インターネットでログデータが Rafik F5CQ の元に送られて来たのだと思います。

チームは、昨夜レユニオン島の St Denis 市に到着。トータル 34,000 QSOの実績。 チームメンバー
が 24日05:30Z にフランス、オルリー空港に戻ってくる予定。

Dany F5CW called me this morning from the Reunion island. The TO4E team is arrived in 
St Denis yesterday evening. The flight from Europa was very nice.  They made 34.000 QSO. 
For the moment, they are having a rest to recover a bit.  They will come back to France 
Wednesday, December 24th at 0530Z at Orly Airport.  Rafik F5CQ

TO4E Europa Is チームは 12月20日20:00Z 頃に運用を終了していた。

本国のパイロット局は、チームからの正式連絡がないまま、パケクラに上がるスポット情報等から、
TO4E チーム運用終了の判断した下したのである。 (チームが 12月24日に本国帰着を予想) 

(2000年の K5K * Kingman Reef DXペディの時は、私の問合わせに対し翌日にはチームからの返事が
取れていた事と較べるとかなり様子が違っている。 米国の主パイロット局は毎日定時にチームと
空で連絡を取っていたので。  私は、今回は 40Mのリクエスト以外に特に問合わせはしていない)。

TO4E - Lasted news, December 21th, 2000Z:

The TO4E team stopped his transmissions yesterday around 2000Z.  The last spots show 
that they have been active almost the full day on 15/12/10/15m and then 20m until 2000Z. 
Today we are without news but we know they have dismantled the stations, the plane 
having to bring them back on Reunion island. 
We hope to get news from them tomorrow morning and we will keep you informed ! 
Their arrival in Paris (Orly airport) initially schedulled the 22, was pushed back at 
December 24 because of the CELA cyclone disturbances.

19日の予告通りに 12月19日15:30Z頃から運用を再開し、21 SSB/CW その後 14 CW に移った。
そして下記ニュースから; 
旨く行けば、明 20日に 40M 用アンテナを上げ同夜から QRV。(計2局が運用する事になるかも ?)。
TO4E チームの閉局時期は追ってアナウンスされる。

I have contacted the TO4E team on 15m.  They are active today with a groud plane 
antenna for the high HF bands and one station only.  Tomorrow, they'll try to install 
the 40m antenna.  If all is well, we should hear them tommorow evening on 40m.

on Europa (AF-009) the repatriation of the Europa 2003 team is pushed back of a few days. 
We have obtained the permission to use TO4E during this period, so they will re-install

TO4E チームは一旦 12月15日迄としていた運用期間を 18日に延長すると発表しましたが、12月17日
12:00Z頃に Europa Island 2003 運用を終了しました。

以下ニュースから; 
「CELAサイクロンは、今日エウロパ島を通り過ぎた。 暴風が軍や TO4E チームの施設に被害を及ぼ
したが、人的被害はなし。 サイクロンによる影響で予定を 24時間早め QRV を中止せざるを得なく
なった。 28メーター/秒速の強風が未だ続くので、再度 QRV する可能性は殆んどなし。」
「軍の飛行機が、TO4E チームメンバーをピッアップするため明日島に来て、金曜日にレユニオン島
に戻る。 22日05:45Z にフランス、オルリー空港着予定。 TO4E チームは 32,000 以上の QSO 成果
を上げた。」

The CELA cyclone passed today exactly on Europa island.  The winds blew with an 
important violence and the buildings on the island suffered.  Roofs were torn off 
but nobody, neither the military detachment or the Europa 2003 team is wounded. 
The equipement suffered a lot and the team had to stop its emissions with 24 hours 
of advance.  It is far from probable that they return on the air because the wind 
still blows at 100 km/h. 

The military plane must come tomorrow on Europa to pick up the operators. 
They must come back to Saint Denis de la Reunion on friday. 
Then, they will come back to France Monday, December 22th at 0545z at Orly Airport. 
They achieved more than 32000 qso.

■--(12月15日)------------------------------------------------------------------------- 
下記は、F5CQ から気象図と共に送られてきたＥメール (TO4E's Web page にも追って掲載された)。

良いニュースと云えば12月15日閉局予定が18日に延長された事。 これはモザンビーク海峡を南下中
の熱帯低気圧と関係があると思われる。
但し、火曜か水曜に強風でアンテナなどが影響を受け、場合によっては電波の発射が沈黙するかも。
電力供給も心配である。 (今までもそうだったらしく)バッテリーの使用を続けると。 そんな中で 
4局の同時運用を試みる。

Hi all,
This is some news for you with a satellite photography of the Mozambique channel at 1200Z 
with the courtesy of Meteo France Reunion Island.

 The Europa 2003 operation who was planning to shutdown on December 15th, will finally 
be on air until December 18th.  They'll try to work with their 4 stations simultaneously 
when they can.  On the other hand, they will continue to work using batteries. 
Low bands and modes needed by certain part of the world are still favoured to allow 
everybody to work them.
 
A glitch is coming and it is a little bit worrying.  A tropical depression is at the 
present time into the Mozambic canal and is going South.  It must affect Europa Island 
Tuesday or Wednesday.  By the way, their main concern will be to protect the equipement, 
and especially antennas. 

They will be probably silencer for a while for their own security.

下記Ｅメールの本文は、Bernie W3UR 宛で、(本人の)今朝、軍の電話で Dany F5CW と話した、
とあるので F5CQ からのものと思われる。

「続けて特別の注意をローバンドの SSB/CW に、1局を 160M に当て多くのトップバンダーと 
QSO したい。 勿論、出来るだけ多くの局に満足して貰えるように他のバンド／モードにも努力
する」。  ローバンドに続けて注意を払うとあるのは、北米向けを意識したものかと思われる。

(W局からの要請に応じて 12月12日 01:50〜04:00Z に特別に北米向けに 7 & 3.5 CW にて運用 
している。 黙っていては、JA は置いてけぼりを喰らうかも)。

Hello Bernie
I spoke with Dany this morning through the Military phone.  All the team is fine, a bit 
tired but the moral is still excellent ! 
TO4E will continue to have a special attention on low bands SSB & CW, especially with 
a dedicated station on 160m.  They hope to make the qso with a large number of stations 
on the top band.  The others bands and modes are not forgotten and they make enormous 
efforts to satisfy everyone.   Good luck and season greatings

チームはこのところ少々疲れ気味だが頑張っている。チームの12月10日迄の交信実績は下記の通り。
リーダーの F5CW は重複QSOをしないよう求めている。
運用終了時の閉局方法は未だ決まっていないが、最後まで1局はオペレートを続ける。

ニュースが直接届くようになったが、同時に彼等のWebページにも掲載されている)。

I had with difficulty this morning a professional contact with Dany.
All goes well for them though they start to feel a little tired related to the duration 
of the operation but their moral is always good. 

Here is a first details about the operation (until December 10th) 
- For TO4E: 
  10m : 3,264 QSO 
  12m : 2,239 
  15m : 6,584 
  17m : 3,203 
  20m : 2,847 
  30m : 1,825 
  40m : 1,412 
  80m :   351 
 160m :   126 
 
 CW  : 11,200 QSO

That's is finally 21.850 QSO with TO4E callsign. 

- With TO4WW, they made 4.108 QSO but there are severals dupes. 
Dany asks to do not try to "double" each qso on all bandes/modes. It doesn't change any-
think but penalizes the weakest stations.
The team hasn't yet decided how they will dismantle the stations there. They will try to 
keep at least one station on they air until the end of the operation. 
All these news will be available on the website, as soon as possible.

これ迄の運用実績は 19,300 QSO; 
  TO4E  = 15,300 (CW: 7,700  SSB: 5,800  RTTY: 1,800) 
  TO4WW =  4,000 (CW) 
6M は、6 QSO だが ヨーロッパ、アジア、米国がもう直ぐ開ける事を願っている。
現在の電力供給は、１日たったの 5時間15分。 彼等はもっと時間が延ばせるよう望んでいる。

Since their arrival on the island, the team has completed 15.300 QSO's with TO4E call: 
5.800 in SSB, 7.700 in CW, 1.800 in RTTY, 6 on 50 MHz (with ZS), plus 4.000 contacts 
during the CW CQ WW contest, as TO4WW. 
F5JKK, Eric, hopes the 6 meters band will soon open towards Europe, Asia and USA. 
Just now, they only have electric power 5.15 hours each day and are only QRV from 06.00 
to 07.00 and 15.30 to 19.45 UTC. 
They hope to have more energy available in the coming days.

★チームの Webページに 12月05日付の Didier F5OGL によるニュースが上がっています。

それによると、運用がもう終わると云った噂にも拘らず、チームは運用がアクティブで、それは
単なる噂に過ぎない。今朝も未だ充分 QSO出来ていない部分があるので運用作戦の変更を彼等と
公式通信回線で話した。 そして、今までかなり CW をやって来たので SSB に重点を移しリニア
ーアンプは SSB の方に使う。

電力供給を含め支援を同島の軍部に頼っており、その指示を重視しなければならない。 予備の
発電機を考えたがそれを持って行けなかった。(思うに、最初から発電機は１台も持って行かず
に電力供給は軍部の発電機に頼ったんだと)。

パイロット局からの受信コメントによって、作戦の変更が必要であるまで、運用は 12月16日迄
続けるだろう。 最初の 7,000 QSOのログデータは送られたが、Ｅメールを含め仏パイロット局
には全然届いていない。

チームは新しい運用時間を 06:00-07:00Z and 15:15-19:45Z とアナウンスした。 兎も角、チー
ムは皆さんを満足させるため最善を尽くしている。

★又、Topband リフレクターの Bill W4ZV は、
チームの問題点は、彼等の運用が完全に仏陸軍の管理下にあり、運用時間の変更が出来ない
でいる。 ZL9CI-DXペディを思い浮かべれば、野生動物の環境の関係で夜間運用が制限された。 
米国にとって、ローバンドの稼ぎが殆んど不可能な運用時間帯となっている。 (その点、未だ 
JA局は恵まれていると云う事のようである)。

     The TO4E website has an update which explains the problems the guys are having. 
Bottom line is, this operation is completely controlled by the French military and they 
cannot change their operating times (now 0600Z to 0700Z and 1515Z to 1945Z) even though 
they are trying.  If you remember ZL9CI, night-time operations were restricted for 
environmental reasons (don't disturb the wildlife!). 

     I am 100% positive that Dany F5CW will do everything in his power to work as many 
as possible on the low bands.  Unfortunately for those of us in North America, it looks 
very unlikely that we will have any chance unless they succeed in negotiating with the 
military people in control.  Let's all just wish them the best, be patient, and hope

皆さんが気にされているチームの運用期間について; 
「運用がもう直ぐ終わる」と云った噂が流れているようですが ．．。
10月26日に書いた「運用期間は当初より伸びたが油断は禁物で、早めにやっつけるに越した事は
ない。」の気持ちに変わりありませんが、逆に今月15〜16日迄の TO4E 局運用の可能性が高くな
ったと見ています。
その理由は、1) 輸送手段として往復共 仏海軍の船舶に便乗する方法を取っているため、チーム
はそのスケジュールに合わさなければならないが、今のところ、軍関係者が急にスケジュールの
変更を強いられるような緊迫した国際情勢にはない。 2) QSLマネージャの F5OGL が 12月2日に 
Guestbook で「12月16日迄運用すると予想される」と書いている。

発電機の使用制限からチームは 1日約10時間の運用に限られ、それが世界の各所からブーイング
(不平、不満) が出ている原因になっている。


■--(12月02日)------------------------------------------------------------------------- 
チームのニュースから、コンテストが終わった(約１週間経った)時点で、コンテストで 4,000 QSO、
それ以外で 13,000 QSO であれば QSO 数がそんなに伸びておらず、Dany F5CW が希望するようには、
パイルアップがそう簡単に収まらないと思われる。

夜な夜な海岸に上がってくる海亀にローバンドアンテナのラジアルがやられ、その度に修復しなけ
ればないらいと嘆いているが、地上にはまだまだ生息動物の楽園があるようだ。

チームはコンテストでの 48時間運用が終わって、再び 1日約10時間の時間制約に戻った。
私がやっとの思いで QSO 出来た時間帯の 3.5 CW は、結構ワイドにオープンしており、北米西海岸、
ヨーロッパ、アジアから これは本物だろうかと云ったリポートが上がっていたが、私のスローパー
では明らかに FR/E 向けが ヨーロッパ向けより強がったので、多分間違いがないと思われる。

December 1st: 
Didier F5OGL and Rafik F5CQ has been in touch with Dany and his team this morning. 
All is fine even if they are a bit tired after their contest operation. 
They realised a bit more than 13000 QSO, 4000 of them during the CQWW (5 millions of 
points). 
Dany F5CW, Eric F5JKK & Pascal F5PTM has been the operators of TO4WW.  Jean-Louis 
F5NHJ & Freddy F5IRO has been active as TO4E during the same period.  They are all 
doing a fantastic job even with hard conditions on the island and we can thank them 
for that.
Some stations droped me a mail because they hearded TO4E out of the WARC bands and 
sometime on CW (infos from Pilots stations and clusters). 
T04E was allowed to be used at any moment on any bands (even during the CQWW) so, 
it's absolutly possible that TO4E give a multiplier to T04WW. 
Dany hopes the intensity of pile-up will decrease a bit but doesn't believe it too 
much. 
Turtles are actually a problem there. Low bands antennas are installed on the beach. 
Every night, these animals, protected, knock over the antennas and destroy the 
radials when they jump out from the ocean to reach the top of the beach to lay 
during the night. 
Daily, the team must repair and raise again all these antennas. 
The 80m is wide open to all continents at the same time. The team is looking to 
modifiy the operation schedule. 
The atmosphere and health is good. 
The moral of the guys is high.

パイロット局の F5CQ と チームリーダー Dany F5CW の連絡から; 
下記の４つが通常の運用の時間帯。 1日10時間程度しか運用出来ない。 (確かに、22:00-04:00Z は 
11月26日を除いて QRV がなかったが、今まではその時間帯通りには運用していない)。 JA の日の出
の時間帯に QRV がないのはローバンダーにとっては残念だ。

WW DX CW コンテストには WARC バンドでアクティブに出るとしているが、時間制約から今までの 
QSO局数がそんなに多くはなさそうなので、コンテストは省いて Traditional バンド(10,15,20,40,
80M 等)は SSB、WARC は CW にしてほしいところ。(00:30j) 

"For the contest they should have energy normally." とは48時間運用を意味しているのだろうか。
兎も角、今朝は 21:15Z 以降連続して TO4E, TO4WW のりポートが上がって来ている。(11:20j)

Hi all, 
This evening on 14192/14173 Dany communicated the reason to me for which the team is 
obliged QRT regularly in spite of favorable propagations. 
The team will not be able to have energy necessary and their schedules of traffic are: 
 04h00 to 07h30 GMT 
 10h00 to 10h30 GMT 
 13h00 to 13h30 GMT 
 15h15 to 19h45 or 20h00 GMT 
For the contest they should have energy normally. 

Tomorrow Friday 28, they will finish to mount the reception antennas for the low bands. 
During the contest TO4E will be active on WARC bands. 

In addition the weather is very hot and it rains often especially the morning. I am 
sincerely sorry for these constraints but we will have to be satisfied with ten hours

下記のＥメールから; 
公式通信回線(島にある気象観測所関係の通信回線) 利用で、パイロット局から集まったメッセー
ジを主パイロット局の Rafik F5CQ は、チームの Dany F5CW に送る事が出来たが、予定していた
Ｅメール通信は FR/E チームの機器の故障で使用出来なくなった。 (ログデータ送信も)。
同チームは島にある公式通信回線を余り使うわけには行かないようで、機器の故障が直らない限り
チームとの連絡はＥメール通信ではなく空(HF電波)になる。

未だ全部のアンテナ(主にローバンド用) が上がっておらず、設置完了はコンテスト前になる。

Hello Floyd,
I gathered your messages of this night and I succeeded in making them retransmit 
towards Dany by an official way. 
It will hold account of the sunrise for the West coast on 40m.
All the antennas are not installed yet, especially for the low bands. 
They think that they will be ready with the antennas before the contest. 
The problems of PSK and sound card its are regulated. 
The logs will not be put on-line on the Website that at the return except if they 
find a means of me of making some pass a part. 
The weather is very hot. This morning it rains. 
They are not on having energy necessary to trafic 24/24. 
I will not be able to misuse official telecommunications. 
It is necessary that each pilot organizes a sked with them each time they is possible.

GazDX のニュースと OPDX ブリテンから:  
250キログラムの機材は既にレユニオン島St. Denis市に着いており、メンバーは11月16日に同市に
到着。 17日に島を離れ仏海軍の船舶で 24日朝にヨーロパ島着予定。 運用開始は 24日夕方か25日
からで終了が12月15日。

TO4, EUROPA (Last Update). Dany, F5CW, reports that the operation is still a go, and 
on November 3rd, he shipped 250 Kg of equipments from Roissy CDG Airport to St. Denis, 
Reunion Island. The Europa team will leave Paris late November 15th and arrive in 
St. Denis, Reunion, at about 1030 AM (local time) on the 16th. The Europa team consists 
of: Dany/F5CW (CW), Eric/F5JKK (6 meters), Jean-Louis/F5NHJ (digimodes, 6 meters, SSB), 
Freddy/ F5IRO (SSB) and Pascal/F5PTM (CW). ADDED NOTE TO CONTESTERS: Please keep in 
mind to add in your CTY file that TO4WW and TO4E are for FR/E or FR/J (Europa/Juan de Nova).

OPDX ブリテンより;  前回記事とダブりますが、 運用期日は良い方に変わった。 メンバーは 
5〜8名。輸送手段は、レユニオン島との往復に仏海軍の船舶を利用。3局による運用。 寄付は 
Didier F5OGL へ。

★Ohio/Penn DX Bulletin No. 633 * November 3, 2003 
FR/E, EUROPA (Update and Changes).  It seems the dates on the upcoming operations to 
Europa have been changed, but for the better.  The team of five to eight operators 
will be active a little longer than previously announced.  The team will be on Europa 
between November 24th through December 15th.  They will use a French navy ship to get 
to Europa and also return.  On the return trip they will head to Reunion Island. 
The callsigns they requested are TO4E for the main operation and TO4WW for the CQWW 
CW Contest.  They plan to have 3 stations on the air.  Donations can be sent via F5OGL.

10月25日付けの 425 DX News #651 によると、チームはコールサインとして TO4E 及び TO4WW 
(コンテスト用) を希望している。 又、運用期間は当初より大幅に伸び10日間延長の 11月22日〜
12月15日となっている。(が油断は禁物で、早めにやっつけるに越した事はない)。

来る 11月下旬から２週間の予定でヨーロパ島への DXペディションが計画されてします。
(Top Band では良く DX情報を提供してくれる Rys SP5EWY からのニュース。 他に "425 DX News" 
からも本件のニュースあり)。
現役の 8人の軍人ハムによるもので、国際情勢によってはキャンセルもありうると述べています。
3局を設置してのオールバンド運用と云う事で、是非実現してほしいものです。 (私には、95年3月
の FR5HG/E 以来で 40/80/160M がほしい).

Europa Island, FR---.
Europa, FR A team of eight French military operators will be active from Europa Island 
(AF-009) from November 22nd until December 5th or 6th.
Europa is a small island that is part of the DXCC Entity called - Europa & Juan de Nova. 
They hope to have three stations active on 6 through 160 meters on SSB, CW and digitals 
modes. 
The team plan to operate in the CQ World Wide CW DX Contest on last weekend of November. 
Be aware of the possibility that the operation could be cancelled if the international 
situation were to unfold, as these operators would have to all go on active duty because 
of there military jobs.  It has been a difficult project to secure permission to go to 
this rare island, however with the persistence of F5OGL, Didier and his team they did 
receive the blessing from the general headquarters to go. 
Europa ranks # 6 (World wide) on The DX Magazine's 2002 Most Wanted Countries list. 
In Europe it ranks # 10 and in the US it is # 6. 
Team members for this operation include F5OGL, Didier, F5CW, Dany; F5JKK, Eric; F5KIN, 
Stephane; F5IRO; F0CRS, David; TU5AX, Chris and another one operator.  The callsign for 
this most anticipate DXpedition will be announced when the operation begins. 
QSL cards will be handled by F5OGL and may be sent via the bureau or direct to Didier 
Senmartin, P.O. Box 7, 53320 Loiron, France.
