E5/S, SOUTH COOK ISLANDS (Update/Change). Operators George/K5KG and Ron/KK9K are
currently active as E51MMM and E51NNN, respectively, from Rarotonga Island (OC-013)
in the South Cook Islands group until December 1st. They plan to concentrate heavily
on 160/80 meters. OPDX was informed just before going to press that George will be
active during the CQ WW DX CW Contest as E51A, not E51MMM. All QSL requests should

コールに至らなかったが、零時過ぎの E51MMM で何とか QSO。 パケクラスポットで USA 局が
"E51NNN CQ 100W" と上げていたが、まさかと思っていた。 今日からは 700W で運用するとの
事で信号も強くなると期待出来る。 80M は 11月17日から運用。

evening. Still putting up antennas here, and the Wx is hot in the mid day sun!

個人的には、比較的アクティビティの高い南クック諸島の 160M がないので今回取り上げてみた。
(今年も QRV があったらしいが)。
George K5KG と Ron KK9K の 2人は 80/160M に注力するそうで島の北端の海岸近くに高さ 20m
の逆L を設置、リグは 700W アンプが 2台。 私が出したＥメールが彼等の Webサイトに載って
いる。 旨く行けば 11月13日夕方から期待出来る。 憎きジャミングの発生がない事を願う。

昨日「．．、既存と云う事で「消滅(Deleted)」にはならない」と書いたが、サイト(施設)のある
写真をよく見ると、もう陸地/砂地はないようで、そうであればサイトからの運用はＮＧで、島の
北端の陸地が満潮時に水没しなければ、そこからの運用はＯＫ、と思われる。何れにしても DXCC
委員会の議題に上がってくるのではないかと云うような気がするが如何？

2007年08月 ハリケーン「ディーン」(最大風速=75m/s) アベス島を襲う。
その結果「ディーンがアベス島の 90％を破壊」("Dean" destroys 90% of the island)、大方の
鳥類がいなくなり、海亀の繁殖場所が殆んどなくなった、とある。
「ディーン」直撃の前後の写真対比「BEFORE and AFTER」でその爪(つめ)跡の衝撃が分る。

2003年11月17日に私の アベス島ページ で、「数十年後には海に沈没といわれるアベス島は、現在
一番高いところで海抜 2〜3メーター」と書いていたが ．．。
現在の DXCC ルールではエンティティにミニマム・サイズ規定があり、新規に誕生するには、今の
アベス島だと条件を満たさないが、既存と云う事で「消滅(Deleted)」にはならない。
今後の DXペディションでは島の数箇所に無線局を設置して ．．と云う訳には行かなくなり、唯一
の島のサイト(施設)からの運用になり、相互の干渉を避けながら複数の局運用になる、と思われる。
私共の如くローバンダーには厳しい状況に追い込まれるのは必至と考えねばならないでしょう。

8R - Phil, G3SWH and Jim, G3RTE will be active as 8R1PW from Georgetown, Guyana on 22-
29 February. They will operate CW only on 160-10 metres, and will concentrate on the

upon QRN and site conditions). Propagation permitting, they plan to have two stations

To coincide with Ham radio activities returning to Iraq, Scott AD7MI will be QRV from
Camp Taji during the above dates. He will be using a 130feet dipole at 50feet with

★Iraq to Be Back on the Air
Later This Month (Nov 13, 2007) -- Diya Sayah, YI1DZ, President of the Iraqi Amateur
Radio Society (IARS), announced today that effective November 20, all Amateur Radio
activity will be "back to normal" in Iraq. Sayah said, "All Amateur Radio operators
in Iraq who carry a valid Iraqi license will be able to use their radios according to
regulations of IARU Region 1 and the IARS." Amateur Radio activity in Iraq was suspe-
nded in March of this year, with the suspension affecting both Iraqi citizens as well
as any foreigners -- including military personnel and contractors -- who have been on
the air from Iraq. The request to halt all ham radio activity and the issuance of
licenses in Iraq originated with a letter from the Iraqi Ministry of Defense to Iraqi
Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki as part of a new security plan, Sayah said.

Hello Koh & Yosi,
I just wanted to update you on the C6A operation. N6BT's callsign will be C6ARR, and
we will only use C6ARR working Japan/Asia/Pacific regardless of the op (N6BT, KE7X or
K2KW). That will reduce duplicate QSOs.
Due to weight limitations, we will only have a single vertical on the beach. TX power
is about 150w, as we are not able to bring an amplifier due to weight limits. N6BT is
arriving on Nov. 18 with the 160m vertical, and we plan to be QRV on 160 on Nov. 20,
about 1000 GMT. We will be QRT November 26, around 1230 GMT.
I think we will have internet access in The Bahamas. If so, you can send an email to
me at k2kw-8(a)adelphia.net for feedback. If we have internet, I can send a list of
QSOs worked each day with JA.
I have typically announced my expeditions via JA3AAW, so I am including Yosi on this

3C7Y は 10月14日に DXペディを終えたが、80M/CW, 160M の運用がなく 160M は懸念した通り。
リニアーアンプ等一部の機器が現地へ届くのがかなり遅かったようで、私が唯一ほしかった
160M が駄目で、結局どのバンドでもコールしなかった。

3C7Y が 10月07日14:00Z 頃から 14CW で運用を始めた。

チームリーダーの Elmo EA5BYP から返事が届いた。 10月01日付のWebサイトの記事と同様、明日
からの運用開始と思われる。
160M のオペが、どの程度此のバンドに注力して貰えるかに成否がかかっているが、楽観は出来な
い。(JA 各地の日の出時刻、JA バンド等連絡済み)。

Webサイトを見ると、10月05日22:30時(現地時間)に目的地のマラボに到着、翌朝設営を開始して
1局が出来次第、3C7Y で運用するだろうと。 期間中 3C7Y だけでなく、それぞれのコールが使わ
れるかも。 ギニアに到着すればデイリーにログを送れるかが判るが、駄目なれば帰国後になる。
運用は常時 2局を予定しているが、場合によっては 3局もある。

後に開設された Webサイトを見ると、無線局は CW局(Hi Power)、SSB局(Hi Power)、6M/RTTY局
(Bear Foot)の 3局の設置を予定。 期間中にオンラインログの稼動も考えている気がする。

赤道ギネア共和国へ EA5BYP, KH7Y 等 4名が 10月上中旬に 10日間の DXペディションを行う予定。
160M では JA―ギネアは 未交信のはずだが。 私も今回ほしいのはこのバンドだけ。

3C - Elmo, EA5BYP announces that a DXpedition to Republic of Equatorial Guinea (Bioko
Island AF-010) will take place from 05 at October 14.
Participating team members will be KH7Y, EA5YN, EA5BRE and EA5BYP.
They will operate with two stations for ten days, transmitting on all bands, in the modes
CW - SSB - and RTTY. The call that we will use is 3C7Y. The QSL manager via ea5byp.

We are announcing our upcoming expedition to Equatorial Guinea 2007.
After 5 years without any kind of ham radio activity in this country and with many Ham
Radio enthusiasts asking to hear 3C in their bands, we think it is very interesting for
the world of DX to carry out a DXpedition at this time.
The team is composed by, Fred KH7Y, Vic EA5YN, Luis EA5BRE, y Elmo EA5BYP.
The expedition will take place in Malabo, (Bioko Island AF-010). We will be operating
for 10 days in all the bands and modes, CW-SSB - RTTY.
The call sign authorized by the Equatorial Guinea Ministry of Communications is 3C7Y.
The expedition dates are from October 5 to October 15.

The amateur radio station SU50JOTA will be active on HF Bands during the full JOTA
weekend. SU50JOTA Team will join more than 500,000 people from over 100 countries
participate in the largest annual world-wide Scouting event - a Jamboree on the Air,
or JOTA. SU50JOTA station will be operational from the Cairo international Scout
Centre Bands will be 14 Mhz, 21 Mhz, 18 Mhz, 3.5 Mhz, 7 Mhz CW & SSB Modes.
