Here is an e-mail I responded to the EMS-UM user's first impression. I inserted my sentences under each of his remarks in the e-mail. My answers are in red.
　この度、初めてEMS-UM（単体）のユーザーとなってくださった静岡県の I 様より、ファーストライトのご感想をいただきましたので、 当方のコメント（返信文）も挿入した形でご紹介いたします。　私のコメントを赤字で示しました。（観察状態の 写真をお願いしていますが、それが届くまで、臨時的にＥＭＳ-ＵMの写真を掲載します。）

I am Mr. Ito who bought your EMS-UM recently.
先日、EMSを購入しました静岡県の I です。

　この度はEMSをお買い上げくださいまして、誠にありがとうございました。　　また、さっそくのご連絡、大変ありがとうございます。

It is a bit late to report, I made the first observation at my veranda of mainly Jupiter and Pleiades.
　少し連絡が遅れましたが、12/4に初観望しました。 ベランダからの観望で、主に木星・昴(M45)をみました。

I could see the splendid view of 167X Jipiter. As it looked enough durable at still more larger magnifications, I have got to feel like getting shorter eye-pieces. I am quite satisfied with the EMS that can be used at the maximum magnification without any concern of image degradation.
　木星はわたしのアイピースの最大倍率176倍で観望しましたが きれいな木星を見ることが出来ました。 もう少し倍率を上げてもまだ解像しそうな雰囲気でしたので もっと単焦点のアイピースが欲しくなりました。 高倍率でも気にすることなく使用できるEMSには大変満足しています。

Thank you very much. Yes, EMS has no limit of magnifications exept for the main scopes' limitations. In reality, some users are using above 400X on the planets.
　ありがとうございます。　EMSによる倍率の制限はなく、ただご使用鏡筒の限 界があるのみです。　実際、400倍超まで使用している方も少なくありません。

I watched Pleiades with EWV32mm(85deg.) I bought from you. I wondered if I were really watching Pleiades as there were far more stars than I had expected in the field of view. I checkd it many times as I felt it unbelievebale.
　 昴は購入させていただいたEWV32mmで観望しました。 余りに多くの星が見えすぎ、 最初は本当に昴を見ているのか自信が持てず、何度も確認してしまいました。

That ocular has the largest eye lens and super long eye-relief. It offers a special openness to the universe with a sence of overwhelming presence. It is relatively light and compact for its specs, too.
　あのアイピースは、アイレリーフが非常に長いのと、アイレンズが巨大で、 メガネ装用も全く障害にならず、覗いていても開放感が圧倒的ですね。　また、 広角長焦点の割には軽量コンパクトです。

My daughter also was shocked to see far more splendid view of EMS-UM on an astronomical telescope, compared with those of naked eyes or a small binoculars. The sky at home was so bright that I could not detect the gas of the Pleiades. I will go to the darker place to watch it next time. Thank you again for introducing me the wonderful eye-piece.
Bu the way, my telescope allows no extra focal margine at the "EWV32mm on EMS-UM. If you have any solutions, please let me know.
　娘にも見せましたが、目視や双眼鏡との見え方の違いにビックリしていました。 空が明るいため、星の周りのガスまでは確認できなかったため、 次にはもう少し暗い場所で観望したいと思いました。 視野も広くよく見えるアイピースを紹介いただきありがとうございました。 ただし、わたしの鏡筒ではEWV32mmで昴を見るとドローチューブ引出し量ゼロで ぎりぎり合焦状態ですので、将来的には鏡筒の短縮をした方が良いかとも考えて います。 もう少し使用して不具合を感じるようでしたらお願いするかもしれません。

EWV32mm can easily be customized to cut back some light path and bring forth some extra focal margine.
Look at the files below. You will know the detail at my BINO MAKING PROGRESS REPORT corner. The related article is dated September 4th in 2010. The newly attached 2-inch sleeves on the EWV32mm can be connected directly with the common eye-end flange of the EMS series in place of the end adapters.

　EWV32mmは、カスタマイズによってピント位置をかなり下げることが出来ま す。　実際に海外の方よりの依頼で加工した例を、製作情報速報の2010年の9月4 日に掲載しております。 　EWV32mmにセットする特製アダプターは、内径２インチで、EMS全シリーズ共通の眼側のエンドリング（EMS−MATSUMOTOの刻印があり、48�oフィルターが取り付く末端フランジ）に直接取り付きます。（通常の31.7or50.8�oアダプターを撤去する。）
